Sandra worked with her collegiate peers, taking on academic-oriented leadership roles as a peer mentor and advisor with programs like Knights Watch, designed to support freshmen students at risk of probation. Through regular meetings, she mentored ten students by identifying and targeting social and academic barriers. They brainstormed possible solutions, and she advocated for their well-being, campus involvement, and career development through specific, measurable, achievable, and time-bound (SMART) goals.

Sandra was a peer advisor for Academic Advance Programs AAP, which supports underrepresented, low-income, and first-generation students to pursue advanced degrees. She has also provided peer support for the UCF Political Science department, allowing me to encourage over 500 peers to seek meaningful extracurricular activities and electives.

Working with a diverse group, including students at risk of probation, international students, low-income, and minorities, she has found that the idea of "not being enough" limits people's true potential. She aims to help students realize their full potential, passion, and value by promoting cultural understanding in the classroom and supporting institutional initiatives toward underrepresented groups.
